I've worked for some great companies; Procter and Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Bass, Lloyds TSB and Europcar amongst them, and I've done the theoretical graft with an MBA from Manchester Business School, and a Masters in E-business at Staffordshire University. Of course, the important bit is to be able to apply that knowledge and experience to the clients we serve, which I think we seem to be doing! Major passions? Family, Manchester United, having fun, skiing, keeping fit and seeing as much of the world as possible.
Having done 'the hard yards' in Corporate Life and running small businesses, I guess I'm equipped to help out on many levels. Two stints in the Middle East working with DHL across The Gulf and UAE and then the largest retail bank in Saudi Arabia adds up to a not so 'run of the mill' career path; adding normality with Lloyds, The Co-op, Clerical Medical and Britannia Building Society to my experience. A hectic family life leaves little time for much else but Golf, Tennis and keeping fit, and of course, attendance at Old Trafford!
I’ve now worked within the web industry for over 13 years for companies of all shapes and sizes. My chosen kraft has enabled me to work with some diverse and interesting clients, developing systems for organisations such as the MOD, NHS, Sainsburys and O2. My studies have included graphic design as well as web technology at Cheltenham University. Joining GTDAB has given me an the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience further, plus working with these nutters personally challenges me to push and develop my skills set’s in more than one way.
I joined Give the Dog a Bone 7 years ago when studying the 2nd year of my degree in Computer Science, and have not looked back since. Computers and the internet have always been a major interest for me, and I was lucky enough to get a chance to work in the web design industry. Creating a website for a client and watching their business grow as a result of our work has become a great feeling, one that I hope will continue for us. Out of work my hobbies include football, music and spending time with my nearest & dearest.
I first found an interest in computers when my dad returned from work one day with an old Windows 3.1 machine with nothing but a floppy disk drive to import and export files. Since joining Give the Dog a Bone 9 years ago I have gained a lot of experience within the industry and developed my skills in creating designs that I like to believe are pleasing to the eye. As much as I like spending time in front of a computer screen, I do make time for a social life, which mainly includes playing football and watching football with the lads.
After finishing college and an amazing six months away in the French Alps, I was given the opportunity to jump on board with the Give the Dog a Bone team. Having the chance to gain experience and knowledge while completing a degree in Digital Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing has been so beneficial and allowed me to acquire skills I never thought were possible. There is never a boring day in the office, with new challenges everyday, which I love as I feel that I thrive when faced with fresh tasks.
My task is to keep everyone in check and make things run smoothly in the office, notice I call it a task not a Job as it is a daily challenge. I then spend the rest of my time providing the business with top-notch administrative support so that the rest of the team can focus on all the other business priorities. Before joining GTDAB I worked at Pfizer in various roles before being blessed with an amazing husband and two beautiful children.
