How it started...
We were approached by one of our long-standing clients with an exciting new venture — 24 Chapel Street. The name came straight from the address of their much-loved pub and restaurant in Lancashire, but the idea was something fresh: a neighbourhood bistro with its own identity.
The food was at the heart of it. Seasonal menus built around produce from local farms, fields, and artisan suppliers in Ormskirk. Proper ingredients with a story behind them. It was about keeping that community spirit alive, the same warmth that made The Cricketers a place people already loved.
Things kicked off when the client sent us their first menu for 24 Chapel Street. It had a clean, minimal style and a simple logo, and they asked us to add it to The Cricketers’ website as a starting point. We did that as a quick fix, but it quickly became clear to both sides that this new venture needed a home of its own. The bistro’s offering was unique to The Cricketers', and it deserved its own space to tell its story.

The journey so far...
So we got to work on the website. The aim wasn’t to overcomplicate things. The idea was to carry through the traditional, minimal feel of the menu design, while giving 24 Chapel Street a look that felt distinct and true to its own character.
We built the site on a content management system so the client could easily update menus and make small tweaks whenever needed. To handle bookings, we integrated a third-party reservation widget from ResDiary, which dropped straight into the site and gave them an easy way to manage tables both online and in-house.
As with all our projects, the work hasn’t stopped at launch. We’ve worked with this client for years, and we’ll keep supporting them as 24 Chapel Street grows - whether that means expanding the brand, creating print materials, or making sure the digital side keeps up with their needs.
