How it started...
We’ve been working closely with DeFINE since we first launched as a web design company back in 2004. In the early days, our focus was on promoting their wine shop, but as DeFINE grew to include a restaurant and began hosting events like wine tastings and dinners, we continued to evolve their website alongside them.
Over the years, we’ve redesigned the site multiple times and created a range of supporting marketing materials, helping to showcase their expanding business and ever-growing list of services.
The journey so far...
DeFINE’s trade division supplies wine to many of the North West’s top pubs and restaurants, as well as an impressive lineup of London’s most celebrated Michelin-starred restaurants and prestigious food halls. Their portfolio ranges from popular selections to rare, exclusive wines.
While DeFINE’s reputation speaks for itself, they wanted to create a dedicated online presence for their trade division — a space that would clearly showcase their wine catalogue by region and country. That’s where we came in.
The website we built offers a concise overview of the trade arm of the business and features sections that highlight their producers, core wine selection, and exclusive offerings. We also integrated a partner login area, allowing trade clients to access up-to-date pricing, all managed through an intuitive admin system that makes updates seamless for the DeFINE team.
For some of the larger producers, we created dedicated pages complete with background stories, locations, and a curated gallery of images.
To round it all off, we incorporated ‘Tasting Notes’ — automatically generated from the available wines and producer stories — which can be easily exported as PDFs for clients.
What we've created for DeFINE Trade...
At Define, we wanted to broaden our trade offering and turned to Give the Dog a Bone for support. From the start, they understood what makes our business tick and managed to bring my own ideas to life in ways I hadn’t thought of. Nothing’s ever too much trouble – whether it’s an urgent IT fix or a last-minute request, they get it sorted quickly. They’re a talented, down-to-earth team that I’d recommend to anyone.
